In the last issue, we discussed Why to engage with the Community on Social Media. Today, let's delve into actionable strategies on how developers can actively engage with the community on social media platforms to maximize these advantages.
You can use various methods that I will list below. Using this you can start increasing the reach of your profile and presence on any platform.
Choose Your Platforms Wisely
You can create on multiple platforms but choose one platform that you will focus more on when creating content. In my case, I create on Twitter, and LinkedIn but my focus is dev.to. I didn’t choose earlier, it is with creating, that I feel I have better reach on this platform.
You can start creating on various platforms but as you create, you will understand which is better to give more resources and time to.
Participate in Conversations
You can find discussion and opinion-based posts and articles on any platform. Engaging with such posts is easy and also it garnered reach. Be you and share whatever you feel about the topics that are discussed. Make sure you give your opinion too. You can be a little creative in terms of adding humor to your response to impact more readers.
You should also engage with people who leave comments on your post or article.
Be Genuine and Authentic
Faking a personality is the hardest thing that eventually gets exposed. That’s why to be authentic while sharing an opinion. Authenticity goes a long way in building trust and connection. Share your experiences, both successes and challenges, to humanize your online presence. Be genuine in your interactions and conversations.
Collaborate with Others
Build relationships with fellow developers by collaborating on projects, co-authoring articles, or participating in joint initiatives. Collaborations not only enhance your network but also introduce you to new perspectives and ideas.
Share Valuable Content
Sharing valuable content on the platform is necessary as it gets you to reach and profile visits. You can not solely lie about engaging with the community. With engaging, you will drive profile visits but only if you have valuable content then people will follow you and your work.
You can decide on what and how to share based on the platform.
